自我介绍: nvas By Joseph Then | Submitted On May 19, 2008 Recommend Article Article Comments Print ArticleShare this article on FacebookShare this article on TwitterShare this article on LinkedinShare this article on RedditShare this article on PinterestExpert Author Joseph Then So, you have selected your set of oil paints. You have purchased a brush that you're sure won't quit on you. You have prepared a bottle of turpentine to help you clean your brush in between applications, as well as those accidental oil stains. You have even procured a first class canvas that will ensure proper oil paint absorption. You have covered each and every base of the preparatory stage of canvas painting for beginners. "So when can I start doing the exciting stuff?! When can I start painting?!" I hear you, I hear you. Not everyone can be like Amanda Dunbar, the young painter who took the nation by storm through a remarkable demonstration of her oil painting talents on national TV. Not everyone possesses the innate gifts she seems to be gifted with. Most of us need proper training. Most of us need to study tips and techniques on canvas painting for beginners. Alas, we now come to the meat of canvas painting for beginners: the actual painting. Below is a step-by-step guide that will train you to master how to bring your concepts into the canvas. 1. Visualize the image you want to paint. Study the colors needed, the hues required, the textures that will bring your idea to reality. 2. Prepare your color palette. Your oil paints should be properly placed in containers that are readily reachable once you start painting. 3. Acquire easy canvas painting ideas a working knowledge about how the color wheel works. In fact, canvas painting for beginners dictates that you should have a chart of the color wheel right beside you as you paint. Remember the following: hue refers to the different shades of the same color; complementing colors refer to colors opposite each other on the color chart; and analogous colors refer to colors right beside each other. 4. If you're planning to paint anything other than abstract, trace the image on the canvas with black chalk. This technique is called grisaille under-painting, an important method in canvas painting for beginners which will help you keep focus on the image you want to come up with. As you'll soon discover, it's quite easy to get lost with what you want to show when the cornucopia of colors start filling up the canvas. 5. Oil painting is all about brush control. It will take time to master perfect brush control. This is, in my opinion, the most challenging part of canvas painting for beginners. Brush control can be divided into three aspects. Master these and you're all set. a. Knowing how much paint is held by your brush; b. Knowing how much paint will be released by your brush; and c. Knowing what stroke fits what purpose 6. Texture is important for oil paintings. In fact, texture is what differentiates oil paintings from other forms of painting, like water paints and the likes. Remember this, and use such knowledge. If you are to emphasize certain points in your oil painting, emphasize it with texture. Want a brighter surface. Apply glaze, then apply impasto. Want a rougher surface? Use thick paint over thinner. There are many techniques you can use to come up with the texture you desire. This, in my opinion, is the most exciting part of canvas painting for beginners.
